Health First Foundation Announces 2025 Community Health Grant Awards

In its annual grant cycle, Health First will award a total of $600,000 in grants support nine non-profit organizations that provide culturally responsive programs serving Native communities throughout northern Arizona.


"At Health First Foundation, we recognize that strong communities are built by organizations that understand the unique strengths, traditions, and needs of the people they serve,” said Mark Urick, Health First Executive Director. “We are proud to partner with these outstanding organizations as they expand access to culturally grounded programs that promote health, strengthen resilience, and improve the well-being of Native communities across northern Arizona.” 


The nine organizations to receive grants are: 


• Defiance Hospital Board

• United Way of Northern Arizona

• Wheel Fun

• The Hopi School

• Stuck Community Acupuncture

• Boys & Girls Club of Flagstaff

• Tynkertopia

• Northern Americans for Community Action

• Center for Community Health and Engaged Research at Northern Arizona University
